Who is responsible
Pickadrift is made and run by Guilherme Matos (Gui Matos Web Manager), in Portugal. For any privacy question, write to EMAIL_DE_CONTACTO.
What we store
On your device: your game progress and settings are kept in the browser's local storage. They are needed for the game to work and never leave your device unless you pick a name.
On our server, only if you pick a name: the name you chose, your recovery code stored in encrypted form, your game progress and your leaderboard score.
Friends list and invites, only if you pick a name: the players you added as friends, who invited you (if you used a code) and invite rewards. To prevent fake invites we also keep a value derived from your IP address at sign-up, which cannot be turned back into the original IP.
Anonymous gameplay statistics: on the game's website, the game sends events such as "session started", "island unlocked" or "blessing chosen", with in-game data (session number, days since you first played, farthest island). They carry no name, IP, device identifier or cookies, so they cannot tell who you are. They help us see where players give up and improve the game, and are deleted after 180 days.
To protect the service: a value derived from your IP address, which cannot be turned back into the original IP, used only to limit abusive requests.
What we do not do
We do not ask for your email, real name or a password. We show no ads, sell no data and use no cookies.
Where the data lives
On an IONOS server in the European Union.
How long we keep it
For as long as the account exists. You can ask for your account to be deleted at any time.
Your rights
You can access, correct or delete your data by writing to the contact above with the name you use in the game. If you believe your data was mishandled, you can complain to the Portuguese data protection authority (CNPD) or the authority in your country.
Public name
The name you choose appears on the public leaderboard. Do not use your real name.
